How Long Does It Take For Suboxone To Get Out Of Your System; For A Drug Test?
The time Suboxone takes to leave the system is relatively unstudied. After one dose, the plasma half-life is around 37 hours, and under normal circumstances, drug advisors would say that a drug would leave the system in seven half-lives. However, Suboxone (Buprenorphine) doesn’t work like most drugs; it is a multi-compartment system that is highly fat-soluble, so it is absorbed into the fat cells, nervous system and plasma protein in the blood.
This adds a new variable into the equation - the greater the percentage of fat in the body, the greater the potential for absorption, and the longer it is likely to take to completely clear the system.
It also builds up in the system over time, so the longer you’ve been taking it, the longer it will take to clear your system completely. One Suboxone user on www.drugs.com who took around 2 mg per day for three years before being made to discontinue taking the drug for 13 days. Blood work at this point revealed he still had more than a quarter of the steady-state dosage in his body, though he pointed out that he had more than 11 per cent body fat. He also estimated that taking 4 mg daily for six months with just 11 per cent body fat, one should leave a minimum of 17 days for the drug to completely leave the system.
However, doctors advise that Suboxone is not for occasional use, and you should not stop taking Suboxone without first talking to your doctor, as they may wish to gradually reduce your dosage, to minimise withdrawal symptoms.

Suboxone has many uses from the treatment of clinacal pain to help those addicted to opioids en.wikipedia.org it takes at least 2 days for single use to get out of the system and for chronic users it can take up to 5 days.

Most people ask this question so they know when they can get high again. The magic number is 3. 24-48 hrs simply isn't long enough to get all the Buprenorphine off of your opioid receptors. You'll take your Vic, or Oxy, and most of the opiates just bounce of the buprenorphine which is still there, and you won't feel a thing. Some people say one day is enough, which is only true if you take ALOT of whatever painkiller you have. If you want to "the most bang for your buck" wait at least 3 days.

I take subs regularly and if I need to take any sort of medication that has opiates in it I only have to wait one day (basically sleep it off) and the medication works fine. For a drug test, it doesn't show up on the normal ones your probation officer or a job would give you. It only shows up if they are looking for it specifically.

Suboxone contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone. It is used to treat opioid addiction and also as pain killer. Buprenorphine is synthetic opioid and is not tested for drug addiction. Its half life is 20-70 hours with mean 37 hours. So it can take 40-140 hours to get out of your system depending upon your usage, body weight and kidney functions.

WANT TO GET OFF OF SUBOXONE???? Use this method It works I promise. This is coming off of two miligrams after a year and I had no no withdrawals. Suboxone is a HORRIBLE drug btw. Get lortab elixir and some clonopin. For the first two days take 10 ml lortab elixir, and 2mg clonopin in the morning. Third day 5 ml lortab elixir and 2mg clonopin , also get some advil cold and sinus to alleviate some of the wd symptoms. At night take ambien or temazepam to sleep 10-15 milligrams. Add some benedryl also if the ambien and temazepam dont work on thier own. 4th day 5ml lortab elixir, 2mg clonopin, advil cold and sinus and sleep meds. 5th day DISCONTINUE THE LORTAB !!!!you dont want to get hooked on opiates again. You can however take tramadol for the next couple days if needed for withdrawals and also add immodium wich is actually an opiate that dosent cross the blood brain barrier so dosent get you high or cause wds, by the 6th or 7th day you should be feeling fine just take some energy supplements or vicks vapo inhalers for energy in the morn. Worked for me and hope it helps you all...the great drugs for detox off of suboxone that they wont tell you at the clinic are : Cold meds, clonodine, xanax, clonopin, valium, amino acids, vicks vapo nhalers, Trazadone, Immodium, temazepam, ambien, tramadol only if absolutely needed. Good luck

7 days is a safe answer. They say 5-7 days, but I always recommend the maximun. It DOES NOT show up on a regular test as opiates, but they do have specific tests for it. Certain rehabs and probation officers use it, but i've never heard of a source of employment testing for it unless there was a reason for suspect.

It took me about 4 days to feel tabs again after being off but the feeling wasn't even even that great then. I would go with the 7 or 8 days if you are looking for a medication to work for you gain. For some reason, some people do not want to answer this question but I will be honest with you. I tried it. 4 to 8 days..... BTW.. I take only 1 (8 mg.) a day.

Thats so funny, because I'm going through the same thing today. I took a 8 mg subxone earlier, my first one in over a month. It's been 12 hours now and I already wasted half of a 80mg oxycottin in tring to find out. Aboslutoley no buzz after 12 hours, so don't waste your goodies tring. I'm going to wait until tommorow and try after 24 hours. Last time I used after 36 hours and caught a nice a buzz. This sucks, I wish I would've waited until I was ready. Now I have 4 80mg Oxycottin staring at me and I can't even enjoy them.

My daughter and my roommate take 2 8mg subs a day. They really helped my daughter with her drug addiction; however my roommate was not so lucky. They both told me there is a specific drug test to detect subs. But if you want it of your system for whatever reasons depending on the person 3-7 days. 3 is usually safe and up to 7 is safer.

I have been taking Suboxone for about 2mths or so, off and on. I'll take 2 or 3 of the 8mg 2mg every couple of days. Today is March 10, 2011. I took 3 yesterday, so now I am having to take Hydrocodone 10's for jaw pain, so how long can I wait to take to where I will feel it?????

Spoke with a doctor who is very familiar with this drug and he said b/c of the long half life it would need 7 to 8 days to clear the system. He said that in his experience he has only had a drug test not specifically aimed at finding Suboxone find it. It depends on the manufacturer of the drug.

Suboxone contains buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is an opioid derivative and naloxone is like other opioids like codeine and morphine. Suboxone is used to treat opioid addiction. Single use of Suboxone can take 2-4 days to excrete from the body.
